Rating
RMA have been involved with Business Rate advice for 30 years and provide a nationwide service to Clients on all aspects of the Business Rate system.
Changes to Rateable Values (Assessments) arise from either new Rating Lists, alterations being carried out to a property, or changes to a locality, such as a new road scheme, or pedestrianisation for example.
We are able to tailor our service to suit specific Clients requirements, but typically will provide 3 key areas:
1. Appraisal
i) Initial general advice
ii) Inspection and measurement of the property
iii) Our valuation of an appropriate Rateable Value
2. Recommendation
iv) Advice as to the merits of making an appeal following the valuation
3. Action
iv) Submission of appeals
v) Negotiation with the Valuation Office Agency
vi) Presentation of appeals at Tribunals as necessary
viii) Liaison with Rating Authorities on refunds
In addition, we are able to ensure any amendments to assessments fully take into account the implications of "transitional relief" and effective dates for alterations.
